Just a bunch of fools that fell for the "Limited" marketing ploy. Even without the additional year of "Limited's", do they expect to actually get their money back in the next 50yrs.?
When you're told a certain number would be made, and the retail market pricing reflects that, I don't think they were "fooled". They were lied to. This has been an on-going complaint by some Roush Mustang owners for some time, and its been brewing up to this.
While I can see both sides of this, I have to side with Ford and Roush- They stated that only 100 of the 2007 models would be produced, and did just that. They also produced 100 of the 2008 model- that should have no effect on the 2007 model value, and if these people were quick on the draw, it's their own fault.
I think this is more of a buyer's remorse case than anything else.
Limited and Limited Edition are two different things, though. If that was the case, Jeep would have been sued years ago for making 90% of their Cherokees and Grand Cherokees Limiteds.

I have to agree. Did Ford promise to make only 100, or 100 of each year? Even so, there's no promise of what the value of a car is going to be, is there? Who is going to guarantee that a car will be worth more in 30 years than it is today?
One of the things about "Limited Edition's" now is that the Manufacturer/Dealer are getting the "Limited Edition" premium price on the sales floor. This leaves the purchaser years before breaking even, less more making a profit. I remember a Mustang a couple of years ago with a 5.4. It was $44.000 + 24,000 dealer market value. I sorry but for that price for a Mustang I'll cross the line and Wrap My *** In Fibergass.
Didnt ford strong arm / sue companies with mustang in thier name?
Mustang & any other name plate or designation.
My heart bleeds for both... NOT.
If they bought Mustangs for speculative purposes, toughtitty. They can try mutual funds next time. Perhaps Ford can put disclaimers at the bottom of their ads that "Past performance is not a gaurantee future results."
I agree with Ford_Six ( he's generally right IMHO). Ford made 100 07 Mustangs in this limited edition. Then they made 100 08 Mustangs in another limited series. It would seem that they broke no rules. I'd assume that you can tell an 07 from an 08.
Now as to the $$ -- was this Mustang really special? If its main claim to fame was that they were only going to make a few, then it wouldn't seem to be worth that much to begin with. If it's truly a great car, then it should hold its value, and increase over time.
Now if people want to mistrust Ford based on this experience, fine. Don't buy the next limited run model. But, what they've done would seem to be legal.
For 'myownself' if I were to shell out big $$ for a Mustang, I'd want the following
1. Pushing the loud pedal causes severe G forces ( and wonderful sounds)
2. Pushing the stop pedal would make my face wish to be one with the windshield.
3. Twisty roads would be fun to drive ( to some extent -- they're not Ferraris)
4. It would look like a Mustang, which Ford seems to have recaptured.
Could never see the point of buying a car as an investment-- but, I guess
I'm siding with Ford and Roush on this one, I've looked up this mustang and not one place I saw said "Only 100 will ever be produced". Sometimes I wish I could be on the jury for cases like this, Ford would get a much needed cash infusion if I was involved. I also don't think that a Roush 'stang will ever be worth what an original factory "Boss" or "Mach 1" is worth today.
FordxFour- After I saw the additional dealer markup on the GT500 (they had $25K at one time in San Jose Ca., not anymore), I did indeed "wrap my *** in fiberglass". Love that expression......................
