Chip/programmer for 05 FX4

It's me again. Whats the best chip/programmer for my truck? I'm going with either the gibsonm or magnaflow exhaust with a roush cold air system. I want as much power as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Well it depends. Do you want gauges? I like them on my Edge. The Edge has been really nice to have. I just want more power. Edge cannot be custom tuned for CARB reasons. I just sent my Edge to Bill at Powerhungryperformance.com to get it converted into a Gryphon. He basically black labels the Edge to a Gryphon (This is done with Edges permission of course) allowing custom tuning without messing with Edges CARB certification. This allows people to get custom tunes from him. Now you can buy the Gryphon from him without having to first buy the Edge. I know that if you buy the Gryphon it includes three custom tunes in the price. It also comes loaded with canned tunes that you can use till you get your custom tunes. Sorry if the above sounds confusing. Bill is a great guy to work with. Now there are other options, which I am sure you will hear about from other people. Remember you cannot go wrong with custom tuning whomever you choose to go through. Again this is just my opinion.

Wow, I had no clue I could upgrade my Edge to a Gryphon. Looking at their website it looks to be well worth it for the price.

I really like my Diablo Sport Predator. The programs can be modified, the programmer can be loaded with new updates, it reads CEL codes, etc. It isn't as fancy as the Edge, but I have had 2 and a half years with it and don't regret it. A good programer really opens up the '04-'08 F-150's, I couldn't believe how de-tuned Ford made these trucks. I wouldn't bother getting a chip, a programmer has many different levels of tune (power,towing,etc). I would never steer anyone to just one brand, many of us will tell you our experience w/ the one's we have ,and you can do you're research and find a programmer that has the right features and options that best suits you're needs.
