puter problems!!!

well I think I might have really screwed things up this time. The wife wanted me to set her up an account on my computer since it is alot faster than hers. So I was going to set her up a limited account. Windows said I have to have another administrator account before I set up a limited account (just been loggin in under the admin acct) So I set up an admin account under my name and a limited for her. I continued to surf and other stuff and then I was goin to resart to show a kid how to get into safe mode and now I cannot access either one of my admin accounts but I can get on in her limited but I cant do anythings since it's limited.

I think I done swam my way up the proverbial creek!!!!

The puter guys just left my place with Clint to go to the hub to get some Jeep parts. Clint had some trouble day before yesterday when he tried to log in in Alamosa on the account I set up for him in Silverton. He tried the user name and pass word then different options of caps and finally did what he typed in first and it took. Shut it down and try it again in regular start up mode. Try two three times and see if it will let you in.

well, we have eliminated the chance of it being an ID ten T error.. so... be like everyone else and blame it on a virus.

Probably one of those weird things where you thought you were typing the usual password but misspelled some thing both times and now can't come up with the correct combination. Don't ask me how I know about this!

I figure it is something stupid like that but it is odd that I don't even have the little drop down menu to let me choose the account I wish to log into. I have heard there are programs out there that can recover lost passwords but to tell you the truth I don't know which one to use or even if that is the problem.....maybe I lost both admid accounts??? but this stinks, I can't do ANYTHING with a limited account, I can't get any of my files or anything!!

That is the scary part, there is no option to switch users, just log off. It is as if both the admin accounts are gone!!

On my desk top when I log off there is that option. That is to say all user accounts are listed and I or others can click on any of the other user accounts.

On my lap top there is not that option even for me, or maybe the switch is on turned on. I have to erase or delete the current user name and type in another user name and pass word.

The accounts aren't gone, I am sure they are just locked. And now that you are logged in as a limited rights user you can't see them. Right click on start.. if it shows "Explorere all users" they you have some access, if it doesn't show that phrase as an option you are in a limited user account. Open up explorer, under documents and settings see if the other accounts are listed.. if so, then we'll just break into them... if not... Um well we nned to find you a paddle for that particular creek ... We'll get it, They just threw soo much crap at me at work today, and on call this week, but I might have time Tuesday/ Wed Evening.????
