95 XLT Started by itself - Help
I have a 95 XLT 4.0 AT 180k miles. It had a dead battery this morning (I think my wife probably left interior lights on) so I put a charger on it and went to work. About 6 hours later, the car started by itself. My wife heard it and went out with the keys and tried to turn it off, but it wouldn't stop. 20 minutes later, the car stopped running for no apparent reason. It didn't overheat and the battery was still good. Now it starts and stops just like normal. I will admit there is some play in the ignition switch, but I don't understand why it would start itself, and then not be able to turn off with the key.

It does have a remote start, but I have no idea where it is. Haven't used it in years. That's the first thing I thought of, but that wouldn't explain why it wouldn't turn off with the key. Keep the replies coming....
