I recently got a 73 Bronco. The truck sat up for awile and was some what disassembled. There was no ignition switch in the dash. There is also no plug to plug into a switch. I did find five wires that were cut. They are as follows: Red w/black stripe, yellow, green w/red stripe, brown, and blue w/white stripe. Are these the wires which once went to the ingnition switch? If I get some time I'm going to go to the junkyard and look at some trucks to see if the wires are close to the same.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-Jun-02 AT 01:42 AM (EST)]OK, as far as I know
Yellow=12 volt power to ignition switch
red/blue stripe=12 volt from ignition switch to starter relay "S"
Red/green stripe=12 volt to ignition coil +
green/red stripe=power out to voltage regulator to turn it on
black/green stripe=power to accessories
purple/white stripe=ground to test brake warn light on start
Best to go to junk yard and get new switch and plug plus about 6 inches of wiring. Then start splicing matching the colors.
