Wiring New Stuff

Hey guys I've got a few questions.. I'm interested in installing strobe lights and possibly neons.. all they say is to wire to a 12v source.. well I'm wondering what is the correct procedure and place to wire in things like that? How would I do it? I've used my cigarette lighter wires before to run strobes but thats it, any suggestions?

The correct place to install depends on when you want them to have power. If you want power all the time I would wire them straight to the battery through an aftermarket fuse. If you want them to only have power when the key is turned on then you have to splice into something else that has power at that time. Be careful not to overload the rated amperage of the circuit you splice into though. Most circuits are rated way above what the device using it pulls though. (i.e. Radio ckt w/20A fuse in it. Radio will only pull like 10 or 12 amps) Hope this helps,
