Was this some type of rubbery stuff on your truck? if so it just might have been from someone's roller on a boat trailer?? I've seen rubbery rollers on boat trailers look kinda that color, and the fact the contact with your truck didn't break the paint makes me think this.
Great job, BTW on the clean up!!
My g/f works for a dealership and was pulling it to the lot a few weeks ago and had to wait for the driver of a delivery truck. Well, the guy must have been new or just a sucky driver, b/c he got impatient, and ended up mashing in the side of a car.. THEN, he looks around to see if anybody saw, and there was my g/f, waving at him. He finally got backed in to the dock, and she went in and told her boss what she saw. Her boss is really cool, but man did he lay in to that driver!! They got pictures, called the employee out that owned the car, did a full report, etc.
She'd swear that if she hadn't been there to see it, he would have denied it if questioned, or just bailed.
OH YEAH!! She walked over to one of the other parts counters where she works and the driver is in there giving this sob story, so she was like "ummmm, sorry - i SAW you hit that car. Totally your fault dude." said nice & calmly, and just got on with her business. Some people are just shady turds.
Glad it all buffed out. That's why I park far away and NEVER near a minivan unless there is no other option.
Thanks for your comments and letting me vent. I hand a passenger who brought their handicap placard and I could have parked in an extra wide spot. But I thought it should be left available for someone who really needed it. And you know, despite what happened I still would not use the handicap spot. Can't let a little incident like this change who you are.
The bad thing is my eyes will always be drawn to that ding in the wheel well trim whenever I get in the truck. Time for some Bushwacker flares.
