I guess you don't have the owners manual? The trans and axle information is under towing. I can look tonight at mine and decode them spring is load rating, tape is probably trim package, body would be the cab/bed style, type gvw is probably the weight class. dso is district special order, and may not even be easily decipherable.

spring - dd = Codes for front/rear spring part numbers & weight capacity. D = front: E0TZ5310D .. 3200 lbs. weight capacity / D = Rear: E6TZ5560H .. no weight capacity listed.

tape - 2 = Type 6, the Style of Stripes on your truck.

axle - 19 = Ford 8.8 Rear Axle / 3.55-1 / non Limited Slip / 3750 lb. Rear Axle Capacity

trans - t = Two are listed for T. AOD if an A/T / TSOD if a M/T

body - kkm: KK = Chestnut Cloth & Vinyl / M = Super Cab Pickup with Styleside Box

type gvw - x151 = F150 Super Cab 2WD / 8,050 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating

dso - b6 = Western Canada Ford District Sales Zone Office

if anyone could decode these that would be sweet
Decoded from the 1980/89 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog.

If the DSO is 6 digits, that means the vehicle is a DOMESTIC SPECIAL ORDER. The first two digits refer to the sales office (see below). The last 4 digits are the special order number.

If the DSO is 2 digits, that refers to the Ford District Sales Zone Office where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

With the tape code, one can determine the type, style and part number of the stripes on the vehicle.

Before 1980, there were no tape codes. It was a PITA to figure out what stripe kit was used on what truck, or car..especially when the vehicle was at a body shop or garage. The usual method was...driving over to look at it.

The body code also decodes to what the interior colors and type of fabric(s) were used.
