Need info on 1994 Superduty.. Is it a Powerstroke?

So I'm looking on buy this 1994 Superduty at and auction 400 miles away. The only problem is i see that 1994's could have up to 3 diff Diesels in them... That makes this difficult because I only want to buy this one if it's a Powerstroke.

The VIN decoder here does no help.
Can anyone shed any light on this?!?!

Thanks!!

By 1995, the 7.3L IDI diesel engine was not being used by Ford anymore. That truck has the 7.3L Powerstroke.

EDIT: You're saying its a 95 F-Superduty but that vin decoder claims that it's a 94... Ford changed from the IDI to the PSD at 1994.5, so if it was manufactured after the half year then you're fine, it's got a PSD.

Crap, I screwed up on the title.. The truck is a 1994 thats why I'm having all the problems..

So based on the vin # can we tell if it's past the half way point in production for 1994???

In theory, you could find someone else with a lower sequence number (last digits of the vin) that has a PSD, which could guarantee yours (being a higher number, thus, later production) is also a PSD. Only problem here, is that I'm not totally sure that the sequence numbers are ACTUALLY in sequence...

Other than that, you'd have to either look at the door sticker (specifies production date) or look under the hood and see what engine it is for yourself.

Oh, a dealer might also be able to tell you the production date (and possibly the engine too) if you call them with the vin number. Not sure on that one.

Got this from the Ford Fleet website.

It claims that this engine puts out 165-190hp but the PSD is rated at 210hp output in 95, see my Ford brochure page here (bottom left corner):

Looks like this truck might have the IDI... Sorry buddy.

EDIT: I know it's not appropriate to post here but if I put it somewhere else it'll change my post count... Speaking of post count, this is my 3000th post!! Woo!!!

I hope that doesn't mean you're NOT going to look into this further... I could be wrong here LOL.

Here's the VIN decoder that I used:

I'm going to call on Monday and see if they can get me a picture of the engine..
I can't drive 400 miles to just take a look at it.

Hey, can you check that link? For some reason it's saying it's not correct.

according to carfax it is an idi turbo.

1994 FORD F SUPER DUTY
1FDLF47M4REA02129
CHASIS AND CAB
7.3L V8 FI / REAR WHEEL DRIVE

(powerstrokes show a DIR designation, regular IDI's have no FI or DIR designation)

unfortunately beyond that its one of the least helpful reports Ive ever run, no records of different mileage points through the years.
