Small parts questions

My 63 F100 Flareside (LWB) has broken/fabricated tailgate hinges and I want to put real hinges on it. My dad had apparently made his own hinges by welding large bolts to brackets, then welding that contraption to the tail light brackets. One has now broken off and I want to replace the tail light brackets and tail gate hinges with real ones intended for the purpose.

I've bought the hinges and tail light brackets from Carolina Classics, but wondered what it looks like when it's all put together correctly. I'm guessing that the tail gate hinges bolt through the tail light brackets since the holes line up correctly, but since what's currently on my truck has been so messed with, it's hard to say. There are now three sets of holes (I assume initially there were probably two) and nothing is connected where and how it should be. Could someone describe how theirs is done (or post pictures) Also the tail light brackets currently on the truck are curved and the replacements that Carolina Classics say really go on this truck are straight. Which is/was right?

And second, I've been missing the wiper bezel on the dash and ordered one from Mac's auto parts. Not really knowing what to expect, I was surprised to see the bezel I received wasn't threaded for screwing onto the wiper **** housing that's sticking thru the dash. Now I realize there must be some type of nut attaching to the wiper housing holding the bezel in place. Anyone know where to get this nut? I could probably just find a regular nut the same size, but it would just look pretty ugly.

Thanks in advance!
