Uhh your once every two year inspection? They've been doing that since the 70s with diesels and gassers. Just recently they've been really starting to crack down on diesels however.

we have 4 semis 3 diesel pickup and countless tractors on are farm. the semis are the only thing i believe that are checked. im not even sure if the smog check them tho.
