Reverse lights not working
I just recently bought my first Ford truck. A 1979 Ford F100 Custom. Among the many things the previous owner didnt't take care of or bother to tell me they didn't take care of, my reverse lights don't work. I've checked my fuses and they are fine, been told there should be a box under the hood or on the transmission, but I can't find it, and as far as I can tell it's not my linkage either. Althought I know it's loose. Any ideas? I'll listen to anything. Just Help!
It is located on the side of the transmission behind the shift lever.
They go bad all the time because of the road grime grease/oil.
Remove it and clean it up in a combination of Varsol/Gunk.
Then use electrial contact cleaner to finish.
Look in my website On the INDEX page for the ford illustrations and you'll see a picture of it.

I think it's worth a try before buying a new one.
The wiring goes all the way to the center of the firewall to a grey connector.
