MSD Igniton question

Could someone tell me if a MSD 5 igniton module would totally replace my stock igniton module (duraspark)...I don't have any spark and can't seem to locate the problem so I think I will replace my whole ignition system (except dist. and pickup coil)

MSD Igniton question

I had the very same thought. I am almost certain the MSD 5 is not a stand alone system. By the time you buy the needed module, the MSD 6 series starts looking like the way to go if you want to drop the cash for an aftermarket setup. By the way, you will probably find your distributer is available in a rebuilt for far cheaper than you think. Just in case the problem happens to be the pickup coil. My mid-seventies duraspark distributer was about $45 for a rebuilt. New electronics in it obviously have to be low end. Hope this helps.

MSD Igniton question

I would go with a Pertronixs Dizzy conversion kit. It drops right in and is far less expensive than the MSD item.
