Going for the Gold

Been flushing out my cooling system with distilled water. It's time to put in the coolant. I understand the red is not good for our engines (seals), I don't want to deal with SCA level in the green, I'm going gold. Anyone have any problems with this? From all I've researched it's okay in our engines and SCA level is of no concern. If anyone knows differently please let me know. Thanks, Kiot.

Did you use nothing but water to flush out the old coolant? I recall someone saying you need to use a flush that is strong enough to remove the old layer of SCA.

Best way to flush these is with a garden hose through one of the heater hoses.

you can put a flush additive in the coolant, then run the truck for 10-15 minutes, then flush everything out and refill. there is nothig wrong with using gold coolant in our trucks, in the last years of its production, the 7.3 came factory with it.
