This goof was a subject of a post last week, or the week before. It didn't seem like he got the hint that his junk isn't worth anywhere near what he thinks it is. This is his second posting of this junk.
The guy might be a doofus, or might be smarter than you think...say there are two guys living within 10 miles of him, neither get out much, both need a hood.
Both feel this is the hood they need.
Get the point? Sometimes Ebay sellers are nuts, sometimes they might be angling to recoin the famous PT Barnum quote
Here is one offered locally on craigs list. The seller was nice enough to send me 10 pictures. He wants $1,000.00 When I responded to the add I was thinking just maybe it might have a decent cab. There is not one usable panel on the truck. You hate to see it rotting away like that but even as a gift it would be a liability. https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gallery/session.php?&formstate=editalbum&albumid=35130
I hate to say it, but that appears to be an exceptionally clean and complete hood. Rust is very minimal, all the chrome is there, including the hood latch parts. I assume it fits F-1's? If so, I'd bet he gets the $500, unless he's in the middle of nowhere and no one can afford to get to it.
if thats gold then im setting on a million dollars cuz ive to comp. front clips for a 49 that look that nice or better... so if anyone needs some parts let me know
I'd take a liability like that any old day. I would love to just look out and see it setting there resting. I can't say the wife would love it, since there is already some "interesting scenery", behind the house already, but she is learning to appreciate the F-iner things in life at her own slow gradual pace!
In regard to the over priced hood, I work with a guy that thinks all his stuff is priceless when he goes to sell it and always wants to buy stuff for basically nothing. You guys must all know fellas like that. The kind of guys you can't wait to tell when you score a really good deal because they will feel cheated out of it even though they didn't even need it ,instead of just being happy for you!
I guess I got real lucky; I got mine for $100 and it looks almost as good as that one. Only had to drive 200 miles round trip to pick it up. The guy had a set of rear fenders for $150. But I didn't need them. What's wrong with some people. There ''OLD'' NOT ''GOLD''
It's seeing stuff like this that makes me kick myself for passing up a real nice 51 hood (with all the bright work) at Iola. The asking was only $75. I just didn't have room to haul it home.
