Need an 8" drop ball mount

measured the drop today with the trailer slightly higher up front to allow for some drop in the truck and i need an 8" drop. looking at this one...solid steel, 2" shank and rated for 12k/1200

80125 Class V Ballmount - Zinc | Truckspring.com

id rather have a solid one but they only come in 6"

http://www.truckspring.com/forged-steel-black_415.html

the first one will fit right? says its a class v but i think i have a class IV?

Walmart special is a standard class III, which is plenty for most people. 75% of folks who tow don't need more than a hollow class III.

What's the leverage of an 8" drawbar going to do to the receiver with that much weight. Seems that the receiver would be prone to extra twisting/flexing due to the added length. I personally would not use over a 4" rise/drop without thoughts of a reinforced or custom made receiver. IMHO

This has always been my question as well... Wouldnt there be greater forces on both the reciever, and the drop hitch from the extra leverage? Makes perfect since in my perfect little world.

Most are rated for 5000 or 7500lbs load bearing, more with a load eq hitch which does not have that type of stress on it.
