Anyone have any info on the history/development of the Crew's.... first years, production numbers, etc.
I was "told" that 69 was the first year that Ford made the crew and that earlier models were built for Ford by (who?) ..... but this could all be just more BS!
Ford crew cabs are built at the ontario assembly plant and shipped from there to the DSO that ordered it. However most crowns will also be produced in the ontairo pland as a single cabs prior to 1965 and even after 65, then converted by crown.
A ford unit from 65 up is easily spotted by the 1 1/4" seperation between doors for internal hinges, crown doors have external hinges and the doors almost touch.
