Craig, There were 4 door cabs and I think the consencis is they were built for Ford by an outside contractor. I have always thought it would be neet to own one. I can't remember if they were offered in both short & long beds.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
Yes, I own a 1966 F350 Crew cab. These were made both by Ford and a company called Crown Manufacturing. The way to tell them apart is that the Ford built ones have hidden door hinges and the Crown built ones have the two little bolt/shank style hinges exposed on the outside of the doors.
Beds widths and lengths came in all varieties, mine is a long narrow bed.
The 1965 crewcab was built by Ford. I own an F250 with a short narrow bed that was originally purchased by the State of Washington's Department of Forestry. I believe there was a limited number made in '64, but can't confirm it anywhere. The rear doors are factory except they have been modified without the vent window. (the work is typical lead with flaws) It uses the same hinge as the front door but only opens 70% of what the front doors do. (if they opened all the way, they would hit the front doors) I am in the middle of a complete resto and plan to keep it as original as possible. If you want any info, let me know.
hey, yes there are mid sixties crew cabs. from what i have been told is the 65-66 crew cabs(6 man cabs as ford called them) were made at the ford plant. availible in f250's and f350's. crew cabs made before then were made by a subcontractor. a outside company building them for ford. i believe it was "Crown ". the hinges are differnt from the factory ones as stated before. I have a 65 f350 crew cab. mine was a 4x4 dually. we are still trying to decide weather the 4x4 is original. it has the factory 17.5 wheels and tires. closed nuckle front end. truck is nearly 20 ft long! i have seen wide and narrow beds. long and short beds. campers and utilities. my rear door hinges are differnt from front but do not stick out the side of the truck. from what i understand the 65-66 f250 trucks had a low front floor like the new 65-66 trucks but the rear floor was like the 61-64 trucks with the high floor. all the f350's had high front and rear floors. the frame on the f350's is taller so the room was needed for frame. i belive they were all availible with the standard engine choices. i have seen 6cyl to 352's. i am in the middle of making mine into a daily driven 5.4 powered street truck. well hope that lets you know just alittle more about the 6 man cab of the early 60's. dan
