I have an `05 4x4 Powerstroke Excursion with the stock transmision.
I`m running an Airraid intake along with the PMT from Bully Dog. Monster Transmission is sending me out a custom high performance torque converter for me to run next week. Has anyone on here done this and how hard was it?
My brother and I will do the swap in a few weeks and any info or pic`s would be great!! My tranny experience is limited to pulling them and reinstalling in sand rails...and DO NOT want to mess up my show vehicle.
torque converters are really easy to swap out. if you know how to pull the tranny then the TC will be even easier. the hardest part will be taking out the tranny. all there are is just a few bolts that have to be undone to remove it out of the tranny bell housing. but since you are getting a new TC i'm sure there won't be any fluid in it so you could use this to your advantage and drain the fluid out of your tranny as well and then you won't have to take it to the dealership to get it flushed.
