I have to replace the wire to the horn in my 68 F250, it was gone when I bought the truck. The problem is the 67 Ford truck wiring diagram I bought says that the output of the horn relay goes pretty much straight to the horn. When I traced the wires on the horn relay all checked out except what I am assuming is the output to the horn (yellow/green stripe). Instead of running pretty much straight to the horn it goes to the voltage regulator and since the schematic I have doesn't even list the voltage regulator in the horn circuit I am lost. Any help on where the horn wire should land would be greatly appreciated.
Still need expert help on this one. I retraced the wires. From the horn relay there is a yellow wire that goes to the Battery side of starter relay, a yellow/green stripe that goes to the "I" terminal of voltage regulator, and a Blue/yellow stripe that goes to the steering column. My wiring diagram shows the yellow/green stripe wire is supposed to go to the horn, but my wiring diagram is for a 67 and mine is a 68. Is there a difference in the horn wiring from 67 to 68? And if so which wire on a 68 is supposed to go to the horn? Please help me figure this out.

Ok I am at work so I dont have any wiring diagrams for the truck....so this is my best guess
Yellow wire, maybe with a black stripe, comes from battery power to the horn relay....it is power to close the relay as well as a power source thru the relay for the horn(s).
Yellow wire from relay to horns, maybe with a green or black stripe...power to horns from.
blue/yellow stripe is ground from horn button to close the horn relay. It will have nothing to do with the voltage regulator.
That is what the wiring diagram says but didn't know for sure due the different years. What is supposed to be on the "I" terminal of the voltage regulator?

I don't have anything that will really help you but I had and experience with that the other day I was testing my steering column wires in my 67 with a test light and I think it must have been the horn wire I tested it and next thing I know I smelled something burning somebody had that yellow wire your talking about hooked up to the ground on the battery and the horned never worked so guess thats why it burned that wire to pieces and also burned the horn relay to a crisp.
