Wrecked 01 F250

Same thing here, the 1st time we get a little snow everone forgets how to drive. The one that makes me laugh is these young kids with their new 4x4's, they drive like mad, forgetting that once you hit the brakes......4x4 does you no good.
The 50% depends on the vehicle and who your adjuster is. Some of them are more leinent than others.

I actually prefer how the truck stops in 4wd in the snow, the ABS is less likely to kick in while braking hard. (Tcase prevents the fronts from locking quicker then the rears, as they would in 2wd) Most of that is because I absolutely HATE ABS. Nothing should ever stop me from applying brake, and if it starts to slide sideways, its easy to correct with steering / letting off some. They are trying to make driving idiot proof, instead of having people go out in a field, with a foot of snow, and learn how the car reacts while sliding and such. Thats how I did it, and it has made me learn how the car reacts, and what to do. ABS takes that control away IMO. The fords dont seem to be as bad as the chevys in the ABS sensitivity department, atleast in my experience. Either way, I HATE ABS [/rant]
