I do not post much however, this is worth a read. Wife drives an 02 F350 7.3. Air conditioning was coming and going. Told her to bring it to the dealer as I can not do air and what the heck have the the truck serviced at the same time. So....Dealer calls me and says the fix is going to cost $1549. One battery dead, warranty. Alternator needs to be replaced $800 and oil change $120 and fuel filter $159 plus labor and diagnosis @ 135 per hour. Oh I forgot to mention sway bar bushings, $330. I paid $138 for there favor and for $290 in parts did the work my self in less then two hours. Sick times we live in. My opinion, no offense to anyone.
Vent is over, thanks. HT
I'd write a letter to the service manager (and owner) and let them know that by trying to bend you over backwards, they cost themselves a customer ... Not that it'll do much good - they might send you a free oil change coupon
The used car dealer I bought my Superduty from, wanted to charge me 200.00 to change a bad coil on my v10. No thanks! I had them tell me which one it was, and changed it myself. The coil only cost 30.00. It only took 15 minutes to change.
