i have an 87 bronco 2, manual tranny, stock gearing and size 235/75/15 tires. how or what can i do to get the spedometer back on track with the taller tires???
change the speedometer caable drive gear. Your Ford parts man should be able to give you the right one if you tell him your differential ratio and tire size.
Unbolt the clip that holds the cable in on the transfer case, pull the cable out, remove the gear, count the teeth on the gear, and note the color. Go to a Ford dealer and try a gear the next tooth size up. As an example, if you have a speedometer gear with 17 teeth, try one with 19th teeth.
