now that i have solved its issues with the running rough and transmission shifting hard i have noticed a knock at idle, i have heard this on a couple of other 73's but was wondering if this is something to be concerned about?
It's injectors, it will get worse over time. Eventually you will notice a slight misfire along with the knock but It will be OK for quite some time. Have a cylinder contribution and a buzz test performed if you become concerned.
sams6.9, I would be more worried about the stock air box and duct tape I saw in the video. You may be dusting your turbo.....You should consider a 6637 filter mod...and replace the cold air horn that goes over the battery. My 2 cents.

Injectors huh? So I guess that one more reason to buy a set a stage twos then. Seriously though, A set of new (stage IIs) Injectors will quiet her up?
94 and 95's are almost always louder than the 96 and later PSD's. It's because of the valve covers. The early years used stamped steel covers but starting with the 96's they are laminated with a layer of sound deadening material between the inner and outer skin.
cold air horn? must not have one have not removed anything from the truck the air box has only been that way for 2 days and 15 miles it broke when i put the plastic bolts back on it (cheap fix) found one one ebay today and am gonna try to get it. this is what happens when you do something nice for a truck IT BREAKS SOMETHING (new air filter) well though if yall think it is ok for awhile im satisfied

Don't waste your money on a stock box. They are junk even without the cracks you repaired. They leak dirt paste the filter...especially if you have a K&N filter. Search this forum for 6637, you will get a ton of info on this subject.
Too bad about the cold air horn missing, it goes over the battery and directs cold air at the filter. Ebay may have one??? It helps even if you are trashing the stock air box.
MIne wasn't as bad as that but now that I am running b100 I can hear the exhaust over those freakin loud injectors. But something that Size is bound to make noise Have you tried running 2 stroke in the fuel- alot of people swear it quites the injectors and more lube for them can't hurt
i have run powerservice and 2 stroke in it (grandpas old trick to diesel tractors growing up) made it smoother at a idle and perfect on the road. and as not to knock or dis anyones opinions i will NEVER modify anything on a truck. i have seen enough stock engines and E4OD's in GAS, IDI's, STROKERS in my family make it to 200k miles pulling a load 90 % of their life without trouble. i might be only 24 yrs old but i have seen enough growing up that if you leave it the way it was designed you can always get in it and you know that it will take you where you want to go with no prob. (6.0 excluded) maybe that is me idk. but it will stay stock.
