My brother purchased and installed a large Transfer Flow fuel tank for his 2004 F350 Diesel powered Crew Cab with an 8' bed. His old OEM fuel tank now sits on the side of his house.
I own a 2004 F250 Diesel powered Crew Cab with a 6.5' bed. My fuel tank is only 29 gallons whereas the one my brother pulled out is 39 gallons.
My question involves compatability between our two trucks.
Will the F350 fuel tank fit into my F250 truck?
If yes, what's involved in this project?
I know that a deeper sender unit would be required.
Anything else?
I haven't been able to find anyone at Ford to help me determine if this larger tank will fit into my truck.
Thank you in advance for any advise on this matter.
It's a matter of length. I've never tried but the issue isn't the depth of the tank that makes up the difference it's the length of the tank. 29 gallon is the largest you can get from the factory on any short bed superduty.
Sure would have been nice to get the larger tank installed for those long trips. I guess spenidng money on an aftermarket tank would be my only option.
Now what to do with this perfectly good tank that I already told my brother I wanted.
