Tire Pressure Question

01 Ex Limited, 5.4L My 01 came with Load Range (LR) D tires as OEM. After some tread separation problems Firestone upgraded the tires to LR E. Now I am experiencing some abnormal tire wear problems and I suspect that the LR E tires should be inflated to a different pressure than the LR D tires. Later model Ex's came with LR E tires as OEM. Would someone with a later model 5.4 EX Limited that came with LR E tires please check the driver's side door labels and tell me what PSI Ford recommends for the LR E tires. Thanks.

I have Michelin LTX M/S load range E. Original tires were BFG and they went 55K miles. The 2nd set were Michelins, and I ran them (without any cupping or strange wear patterns) for another 65K miles. I now have installed another set of Michelins, and they look great after 30K miles. The truck has 150,200 miles on it. I have the tires rotated every 7500 miles. I run at least 65 psig all the time, except when towing. Then, I run 75 - 80 psig. I recommend 65 psig and better tires--either Michelin or BFG.

The inflation pressures didn't change when Ford put new tires on everybody's trucks.

Most suggest 5-10lbs. over the door jamb label.

E's don't need more air per se. They can just hold more.
