Duraspark ignition modules
I'm converting from a points to electronic ignition.....I pulled up some info on the net on wiring it up and everybody seems to be saying to use the module with the blue grommet....why? what is the difference other then the wire connectors? is one better then other? .....also can I use the original points coil with screw connectors or do I have to switch to the Duraspark model with horseshoe connector?

I am a little rusty but I believe the blue gommet module was more resistant to heat failure. Sorry I cant be more positive went to school on this in the late 70's and have not used it since.
I would use the horse shoe it will make a neater install

Duraspark ignition modules
I know some of the other color modules had different features as far as spark retards and other stuff used for emissions. The blue one is a simple straightforward spark box.
