I changed the plugs/boots last week in my 2000 V10 Ex with 92,000 miles on it.
I think the plugs were original since they were the old style. Anyway all were tight and worn 10 thou bigger gap than the new ones.
I put the new ones in at 30 ft=lbs and had no issues with torque.
I removed 2 injector electrical connectors to get more room and both times the plastic flexible piece that holds it on broke as I squeezed it. I had to put a wire around them when I reconnected them to make sure they wouldn't work themselves off.
Anyone have this problem or know if the connectors are easily replacable?
Had same problem with the first one I'd tryed to remove.Just slide it on the injector and
till now (6 months)no problems.Did you torqued 30 ft/lb dry or with anti-seize?
A few people have said the same thing - besides getting a new harness and either changing the entire thing or splicing on the connectors, there's no other obvious fix.
Plastic tie wraps work well I've heard
30ft/lbs? Sheesh... at least if you had any bad threads, you'd find out real fast...
