Just bought the aeroforce interceptor gauge. I've heard Tj talking about it and then saturday got the diesel Tech mag-saw TJ's Truck and then two pages latter the add for the gauge and figured it was a sign.
Anyway been wanting a scanner for the truck so for the price and what thisthing does I couldn't see going wrong with the purchase.
My Question is I want to put the gauge in the tri-pillar but am questioning where. The pyro is staying so that leaves the boost or the tranny. THe interceptor gauge shows boost at the map and with the 1.0 housing I don't have to worry about over boost-if I hit 20 psi I am doing good. I broke the temp sender on my tranny temp and havn't had a chance to replace it yet so I planned on putting it there, but where does this gauge get the temp for the tranny and is it accurate enough to trust when pulling some grades? Thanks for any input.
the PCM gets the trans temp from the solenoid pack fluid temp sender. That is located in the core of the trans where the action is at so it read about 10-20 degree higher than my stand alone gauge in the test port. I would consider it just fine to replace the temp gauge. If I didn't already have a trans gauge I would stick with the Scan gauge
