I have a '93 F150 and for some reason the alarm bell is going off when I open the driver side door.
The keys are out of the ignition, the lights are turned off, and there are no external lights bulbs burned out. I have looked in the manual, but can find no reference to something like this.
When the ignition key cylinder on my 92 started to act up I had the same problem. The chime would not shut off. I ignored it until it got so I could start it with out the keys. Changed out the cylinder and the problem went away. You might try pulling the cylinder, cleaning and re-lubing it. Or you could pull the chime module.
It could be a problem with the switch in the key cylinder. Just take the plastic column cover off and it's easy to see it. Or if you don't want that feature, just slide it out and tape it up.
First pic is how it's supposed to look, second is removed. (just tape it up)
