wanted to know if small placte pice that holds thum screw for

As far as I can tell you're talking about the white piece in the photo. The shift indicator comes as an assembly. They're not very expensive so I'd recommend getting a new one from Ford.

Looks about the same as the 1 on my E150 that stared at me w/the PRNDL transparency half fallen out of place for over a year. Finally I had to replace gauge lights & pulled the instrument cluster, leaving the white bracket attached. It was easy to remove the 'cable', but practically needed a surgeon to reattach. It only took seconds to reglue PRNDL.
If the white plastic broke you might've just been able to use a dab of glue/epoxy putty or even a twist tie to hold the 'cable' in place. Its really a low tech design that could be fixed in less time than it took to type this.
