well, i think my rear end is going bad. i have thought this for a while. maybe a few to many miles at 100+mph, with 4.10's. the truck aint been abused, but i just dont know why everything is breaking at the same time lol. it started at the tranny, then the yolk and rear u joint, then the strap on the yolk. well, i got it all together, went good. i still have this roaring from the rear end, and vibration. so, just to be safe i put a carrier bearing in it for $20. well, that didnt fix my roaring and vibration. it still roars above 65, if you accelerate much. it gets especially bad at 80ish. i am pretty sure its the rear-end. there are lil shavings on the drain plug too. this al started when my brother changed the rear wheel seal and fluid and put semi rear axle fluid in it. someone told me that coulda done it. he put in synthetic semi rear-axle fluid in it. then shortly after that the rear end started roaring. the guy i am landscaping for has a good axle he can swap out for the landscaping. he has been saving it in the dry, it had only 30,000 miles on it!
well, it may have travelled 100 miles in its life at that kind of speed. i mean its been used, but no powerbraking, only staged up a very few times, ect. yes, i have drove it hard a few times, but overall its been treated well.

ok and I thought I had abused my truck when I got it up to 82 mph! my truck almost never sees over 2500 rpm.
There are plenty of things that can cause high speed noise. Only half of them are at the rear end. the half are the front end. U-joints, tires, wheel bearings, driveshaft support bearings......
I would do a little diagnostic before I worked off an axle that may not help anything.
well, there are shavings on the fill plug everytime i take out the plug. it will even vibrate the back window a little at high speeds, and i replaced the carrier bearing yesterday. it is worst at about 65 mph when you accelerate a little, and all u joints are good.
but, today i had my dad put it in and out of gear, and the front of the rear end raises up when you put it in gear quite a bit. i'm thinking it may need traction bars or something cause of the 2.5" spacer blocks i put in it may cause it to be not stable enough. what yall think?
