I am usually not on this forum I usually post in the diesel forum. But i have a 1997 explorer with a 4.0 sohc and the ac has quit blowing. I have checked all the fuses and the relays under the hood and they all seem to be fine. So i guess the next part to look at would be the blower motor? The rear air still blows but the front doesnt. Please help!! Thanksin advance
Just to double check, my 98 Explorer SOHC 6 manual is showing:
Under the dash fusebox:
Fuse #2 7.5 amp: blower motor and air bag diagnostis.
Fuse #6 7.5 amp: rear blower motor (without EATC)
Fuse #35 7.5 amp: rear blower motor (with EATC)
Under the hood fuse/relay box:
Fuse #2 40 amp: Blower motor relay
Relay #9: Blower motor relay
Also there is a 'hidden' relay box in the passenger side of the engine compartment slightly below and to the inside of the intake air filter box. Mine has 4 relays in there. Two control the front and rear windshield washer pumps. Not sure what the other 2 do.
there is also a resistor block to control the fan speed. laly on passenger sisde floor, look up under the glove box at the air duct. should be a 4 pin connector plugged into a resistor block. if it burns out you normally have high speed only. if the plug falls off, no speeds.
