Fuel Air Seperator System

It has been awhile since I have been on here, and would like to say Hi to everyone first.
I have a 2001 F-350, 7.3 P/S, Superchips programmer, 4" exhaust, and an ABS turbo shroud. I just had a FASS installed on my truck. It is the 150/90-2014@55psi system with a new draw straw. This doesn't use my stock fuel pump. My question is, that everytime I go to start my truck I put the key to the "on" position the new fuel pump sounds like it is re-priming itself, for about 20-30 seconds, then I hear a click in the pcm, the pump becomes much quieter, and then I start the truck. With the stock fuel pump, it was only this noisey when the truck had been shut off for several hours (basically overnight). I was told by the shop that this is normal on Dodges, but I was the first Ford they did and they think it is because these pumps are just louder than the stock pumps. Has anyone else that has this system noticed the same thing? Also, the draw straw isn't sealed on the tank. I saw this when I filled up and I got some fuel spill from the top of the tank. I was thinking about using some "fuel proof" RTV to help seal this. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks for the help,
Ron Wilkinson
P.S. With the FASS system I have seen better throttle response and more power. Still trying to see if I get the 8% better mileage they claim.

Does anyone have the phone number to Diesel Performance Products? Their website doesn't list one and I really need to find out if this is normal for their pumps.
Thanks,
Ron W.

If it's wired into the electrical for the stock pump, The pcm only commands it to run for about 15-20 seconds and then shuts it off until the engine is started.

Thanks Rick.
Clux, the fuel pump is wired in where the stock fuel pump was. The stock fuel pump was loud only when turning the ignition to the on position after the truck had been off for several hours. After that it wasn't any louder than normal when it would go through the cycle. With the new fuel pump it is loud everytime the pcm cycles it, then quiets down. It will also quiet down if I start the truck before it finishes the 15-20 second cycle. To me, it sounds like the fuel pump is re-priming itself everytime I go to start the truck, even though it may have shut off for only a minute or two. The fuel pump itself does normally run louder than the stock pump. I hope all this made sense. :-)

The FASS pump is much louder than the stocker, and if the shop did not put in the rubber vibration dampeners, or over torqued them you will hear ALOT more noise .
do you still have a dead end in your fuel gallies, or have you added a cross connect kit?

Brandon,
I have not done any mods to the fuel gallies. Does your pump sound like it is priming everytime you go to start it, during the 15-20 second pcm cycle? My stock fuel pump only did that if the truck had been sitting for several hours.
