alright, I'm still 16 and fairly new with a vehicle. One thing I've never done is set the ignition timing. Unfortunately I was being dumb and messed with the distributor. Needless to say, I need to find how to at least get it running to the point I can take it to my buds shop. It's an f-150, 302 TFI ignition in a '91. Thanks guys.
If you pulled any plug wires, make sure they're routed properly FIRST.
Loosen the dist clamp bolt, turn the key on (RUN position), use one hand to short something metal from the BATTERY terminal of the starter relay (on the fender) to the small terminal at the top (R/LB wire I think) so the starter engages, and twist the dist slowly back & forth until the engine fires up. Set it so the engine idles as fast as possible temporarily, but get a timing light soon. The instructions are printed on your emissions sticker either on the core support (where the hood latch is), the air filter cover, or the hood.
