Well I know there are multiple cab mount threads but I havent seen any that answer my questions. I have Energy Suspension cab mounts for a 73-79 that appears to work fine but I had to cut the original hardware up to get it off so now I am in need of the hardware. I know I could just order some but I have some thickwall tubing here that is the proper diameter and could wipp something up alot quicker than it would take to get here.
what is the length of the cab mount hardware? do I need to use the 67 cab length or the 73-79 length, is there a difference?
If you guys think its too much trouble to make them I can wait if I have to. If I do order the hardware what do I order it for since I am building a 67 F100 with 73-79 f150 mounts? do I order the 67 hardware or the 73-79 hardware?
I would say order the later hardware. I could have swore I saw Numberdummy post up that all late 50's through 79 mount bushings are the same. Which to me would mean the hardware is the same too.
Cab mounts are on the list of things to do along with smoothing the firewall. I just need to get my house monkey off my back.....
Yes I recently found out that they are all the same. I already have the energy suspension installed I just need the hardware. I think the tubing is 5/8 od and have been looking for some today. I will be using the energy suspension bushings and bolts and my own metal sleeves. I would rather have just the $80 in the bushings and make the harware myself instead of paying the $250 some places want.
Well I found some 3/4" pipe at Lowes today and it is almost a perfect match to the factory hardware tube, I just need to cut it to the propper length to make it all work.
I think this is something that needs fixing on my truck...but I am unclear on how this 3/4" pipe comes into play....I don't see anything that looks like pipe on my mounts at all...
