Cruise control surge?
Now that FTE has helped me sort out my oil leaks, p/steer, and other mods...I am looking for even more help!
My cruise control has a pronounced surge if set between 108-111 km/h (approx 67-70 mph), a bit faster, or slower, or any other speed it all works fine. (most of our legal speed limits are 110kmh)
It's done this since new, and the stealerships were'nt interested in fixing it.
I know its a small thing, but can be annoying...any help is appreciated as always
That speed should put you in the proper rpm range for where you want to be with the cruise. Maybe your problem is when pulling a trailer and you need to bump up the rpm's a little to get to a better spot on the power curve.
Mine did it to me once. Too much torque, and the computer is set to apply too much pedal pressure at the wrong time.
I think there was a recalibration available for it, but now it'll cost you money to get it done, if you can even find anyone who knows what you're talking about.
Don't do 70
Its a bit of a worry when enthusiasts know more than the stealerships, all I need to do now is find one that may know how to reflash the computor.
"Dont do 70".....have you seen how long and boring some of our country roads are? The problem is going as slow as 70
