steering column wiring question
I recently installed a tilt column from a '77 f150 into my '66. I'm now trying to hook up the wiring and have become very confused. I have wiring diagrams for '65-'79 and all of them show wires which are not present in the column I've installed. I have been able to determine some of the connections but have been stymied.
My column has the following leads:
yellow
light green/red
orange/blue
light blue
light green
white/red
light blue/red
dark blue
light green/white
white/blue
the schematics show i need the following;
red/black
green/white
yellow/black
green
white/blue
white/red
blue
something is sure goofy here and i'm hoping one of you can help.

steering column wiring question
There is another thread on this forum with the complete wiring schematic.
Is the *matching of the wires* confusing you?
Do you need to know which colour wire on one harness goes to which wire on the other harness?
The big deal will be the hazard lights as they are in the column of the 77, rather than a switch on the dash of the 66.

steering column wiring question
I have the schematics from '65-'78. The problem is that the codes showing in the schematic don't jibe with what's coming out of the column. I have traced which wire is which in the harness. But, until I determine what the proper codes are for the new column, I can't mate the old with the new. I'll check the other threads, but fear I'll find the same thing.
