Folks my power steering went out on my 77 f-150 last week and 2 days after that my steering column broke. The ears on the outter tube of the steering column, the tube that runs from the bottom of the shifterflange through the end of the firewall and houses the shifter tube and the steering shaft, broke completely off. The steering shaft and wheel assembly now move freely within the range of the tube.
Now, question I have is.......where can I get just the tube?
LMC doesn't offer the outter housing tube at all, the one out of my 78 is not the right one(4 speed manual and I'll need it for my 78 when I get it back together anyway), I have my 76 2x4 auto but I'll eventually need it too when I get done with that truck.
Anyone know of a company that offers new steering column tubes at a reasonable cost?Or am I just up the creek on this one?
