ok so i was just wondering with all the different oils out there which one have you had in ur truck that made it run the best. Ive always known to only put havoline in fords normally. But i also like how castrol runs in them but thats just only 2 different which do you think is the best
My father bought a new Coupe De Ville for my Mom every 2 years beginning in the early 60s. When it was delivered..He had the oil changed to Valvoline..and Firestone tires installed...Works for me.........
Go to the UOA section for gasoline engines and people send in oil to have it analyzed to compare wear results.
Castrol GTX has shown better results than all the other conventional oils I've seen on there. Correct me if I missed one or two, but I will say this. You will NOT go wrong with Castrol GTX 10W-30.
No, I'm not supporting them. You can't go wrong with any of them, but GTX shows EXCEPTIONAL results... and if I remember correctly, matches up to the protection of most synthetic oils. I use it and dog the hell out of my vehicles sometimes and have no problems....
But just because your engine doesn't make a noise doesn't mean that you are getting excessive iron or copper wear that won't show up until a few years down the road.
I haven't used anything but Castrol GTX in any of my vehicles for the last 33 years. Wouldn't use anything else. I didn't have any test results, just felt like it was doing a great job for me. Now I see that my instincts were right. (For whatever that's worth.)
well it seems as i thought that castrol gtx is probably one of the best im gonna go and get 7 quarts of it today and an oil filter and airfilter to do a tune up (already done the spark plugs like 2 weeks ago and gonna flush the radiator sometime this weekend sometime after work and also probably if i have time change the thermostat cuz mine is not work very well lets put it thata way
My dad used to be a fleet mechanic & has changed over to Havoline for every 'new' vehicle the Company bought & sometimes Havoline 10w-30 has even decreased oil consumption on some vehicles, so I always use Havoline 10W-30,summer & winter.
Let's see, I'd say I have bought house brand oil for 35 years. Saved alot of money and had no ill effects. Save your money and do something good with it.
