I have a 12 x 24 with a Triumph in it, so most of my truck work is on the driveway. I do have plans to get rid of the 12 x 24 and get a 24 x 24. I then want to put a lean to on the back for storage. I almost bought it a month ago but then some unexpected things came up and poof the money was gone. So now the saving process starts again. Who knows how long that will take. At least it sounds like I am not the only one working outdoors. I just hate when the asphalt is so hot. It requires 2 layers of cardboard!
Thanks, Roger, I knew you would be there when I needed you. I could also build a garage over it and have a basement garage also complete with a floor drain. Only problem is everything would slide into the deep end.
well, you men with small garage's don't fill too bad. the more space you have, the more junk you put in them. i have a 26x40 and a 20 x 30. and they are full.
Should I add that the back of my explorer is my storage shelves for my body shop?
Sander, grinder, air tools, paint guns, sanding supplies, sanding blocks, body tool set, epoxy primer, epoxy reducer, wax and grease remover, and whatever else is in there. It is packed. The back sags pretty bad now. LOL
15'-4" X 27' garage space filled with a lot of tools and equipment that I keep my F-350 in when I'm not working on something and a 14' X 20' machine shop area with two lathes a Bridgeport mill a floor stand drill press and a blasting cabinet. The good side is that it is well insulated, heated and air conditioned. Hopefully I can get another building built to put my vehicles in so my workspace will be left alone to work in.
Can someone make me feel better? Please tell me you are trying to build a truck in a garage smaller than 24' X 18'. I can't cuss a cat without getting fur in my mouth.
I just came in from priming some Darksider suspension parts. I have the frame hanging from the ceiling and had to hang parts from the frame, then set in the floor to spray them.
I need your motivational help to keep me from blowing up.
I know this isn't your problem, you probably had more sence that to start your projects in a CLOSET.
Just venting!!!! Thanks for listening.
We've an attached two truck garage & the only full size vehicle that resides there is my replica of Henry Ford's 1893 Quadracycle.
There is no room for anything else because of all the boxes full of our belongings & other stuff.
Had a two car that was converted to a one car and an extra room, but had a backyard to store the big parts. Then got a two car with no backyard and its much smaller now. Cant complain after reading about everyones tight spaces. Just need to finish the truck and get more room for the next one.
Hopefully I can get another building built to put my vehicles in so my workspace will be left alone to work in.
An interesting point is to have a storage area after the projects are done, and to keep them out of the way for the next one. Perhaps a 7 stall storage building like those that you can rent, lol.
