Hard Starting
My 89 E-150 4.9 blew a timing gear couple weeks ago, i replaced with a set of metal gears. Now sometimes it acts like its out of time when i go to start it. Other times it cracks and starts fine. When its turning over slow If i pull the electrical conn to the engine control mod. on the dist. it cracks easy. Im not getting any codes, just 00. Any ideas ? Thanks you guys are always a great help.

When i run the test I can hear it run the fuel pump relay. Maybe the tester is bad. But only shows 00.- I've been reading through the threads i think my problem may be in the control mod. or the white wire in that harness-it retards the ign when started. Anyways thats where i'll start.
