Links worked for Miller 2 or 3 month ago when he did his rebuild. I dunno, maybe ZF shut the web site down. It sure was handy. I will do some new digging.
I tried accessing the links from other sites and links still do not work. I did not save on a hard disc. Lesson learned.
Don't worry Tim. I once bookmarked some links some smart guy posted and they look a lot like the ones your trying to post. I just checked and those links are working.
Here's a link to the other thread. Somebody ought to rep that guy.
By the way. I would have sworn you were wrong about the location of the cooler. I just went and crawled under my truck to trace the lines (jumped and hit my head when a drop of cold water from the AC landed on my chest) and discovered the cooler I remember is not there. The lines go into the radiator.
i looked at what is on dieselsite, i dont know it the little pump would like pushing the oil through that kind of filter. its a small pump and with too much back pressure a check valve opens and the oil never leaves the trans.
even though a manual does not get as hot as an auto, i still think that a filter is a good idea, with the syncs wearing out with every shift, and the gears and bearings shedding metal, the pump has a screen over the pickup and there is a magnet in the bottom of the case so its obvious that ZF thinks that debris will gather in the transmission.
