I was going down the interstate on Saturday night in my 05 f-350, My ABS light came on,and stayed on(no blink) I tried my brakes 2 times and they were fine, When I got a chance to pull over I didn't smell anything or here anything when I was driving. I was 3 miles from home so I drove it. When I started it the ABS light went out for about 3 minutes then it came back on. Sunday I started it and it has not come back on so 10 minutes or so I drove. Monday there has been no problem since. my question is- have it checked or not, I have other (Ford) trucks that I can drive so that is not my problems.

Brakes need to work 100% on our heavy trucks. When the ABS light is on, the ABS system will not operate. Just because the brakes seem to work OK does not mean that you can depend on the anti-lock system working when you need it most.
An ABS light can be caused by simple things. A rear brake light not working, a blown fuse or the emergency brake partially engaged are a few of the many things that will turn that light on. It is worth your while to get the problem identifed and fixed.
I stopped at my garage today told him of my problem and he told me, I don't have anti lock brakes when the light is on, If it happens again bring it in.
wheel sensors are a common failure on ABS equiped cars and trucks. have the code pulled, this should ID the problem, and for saftey's sake , get it fixed.
My 2005 crew cab 4x4 did the same thing a few weeks ago. I called the dealer and they said to bring it in. The day before I took it in the light went out. The dealer said that they could not tell what it could be with out the light on. Good system that does not store codes for the brake system. Has not came back on for since.
