Do a search on "power brakes" and you should get pages and pages of posts to read. Think there may also be a tech article. Click on articles at the top of the page. I put power brakes on a 64, and the difference was just night and day.

got under the truck monday and found that the bracket for the passenger side i beam was broken and patched & welded (badly) so i really need a donor now. kinda sucks.and my bed is a little shifted to the pass. side too.

 

If the I Beam pivot mount area is messed up and had a poor repair...it sounds like you need another truck to swap stuff to...and scrap the frame you have now.

are you working on a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton ..2 or 4WD ???

1/2 ton 2wd long bed, but i might be able to fix it better than whoever tried last time.
