im wanting to get my pcm reflashed and was just wondering how much the stealerships are charging to do this. and what the latest version is so i dont get screwed.

 

ECM, PCM, PROM, etc, etc. Why do you want to get it reflashed?

 

well my cruise control quit working and ive been trying to detune the truck back to stock to see if thats the problem. ive trouble shot everything for the cruise system and have come to the point that the computer doesnt have the programming for the cruise. it somehow lost it and i have ford shop manuels that i used for the trouble shooting. but back to the subject on hand, my diablo wont reinstall the stock tune. its like it lost it too. but i have always had problems with my tuner and im ready to scrap it. so im wanting to go to ford and just have the computer reflashed and hopefully it will fix the problem. and if not, ill at least know that its tuned to stock and i can go buy and edge or something to replace the diablo im having headaches with.

 

oh...they can reflash it, but I have no idea how much it will cost. Some shops (like mine) can reflash with permission from Ford, but normally it's for a warranty repair...I've never tried to rewrite a PCM over anything than an already stock setting. I thought you loved your diablo?

 

well i did love the diablo till this crap started happening. im slowly learning the hard way not to go with the best deal when it comes to performance accessories. i might buy a brand new diablo instead of the used one i currently own. or go with and edge. alot of people on here seem to like them. and it has more functions than the diablo

 

I have the edge and completely love it. It was by far the best thing i ever did to my truck
