I was ordering my gauges from DieselManor and ran into a snag...Which thermocouple do I want? Weatherpack or ring terminal.

Weatherpack is more water resistant but cost more. I think it is more of a personal preference. I went with the Weatherpack.

 

I went with the ring terminal, what Rick said above...Congrats on the gauges..

So just out of curiosity, what brand of gauges are you getting, the suspense is killing me.?

 

As far as quality and accuracy, they are identical. The weather pack upgrade proves you with the ability to quickly and easily make the connection or disconnect later, as well as being waterproof. If you look under the hood, most of the factory connections are the weatherpack style. They have a little silicone sealing gasket inside as well as seals where the wires enter the connectors. I have the ring terminal style on my truck. Reason? We didn't sell the WP style back then. I plan on changing it soon, when I have some free time. I only had one instance where it gave me a problem. I was in a very foggy area early in the morning, and the pyro needle was bouncing around erratically. This was due to the moisture that collected on the connection, shorting it out a bit. Once the fog burned off, the gauge went back to normal. The other nice thing about the WP is it installs so easily. When I installed my thermocouple I dropped the little lock nut only to have to try to look for it on the floor for about 5 min. After I got both connections completed I realized I forgot to put the heat sleeve on both wires. I had to disconnect both wires and put the sleeves on and reconnect. No big deal, but a time consumer. Murphy's Law.

 

Sorryto keep you in suspense so long......ISSPRO 3 gauge setup is what i am going with.

 

You will like, thats what I have. I just wish Isspro made more gauges like Fuel pressure, Water temp, and whatever else a guy would like to moniter.

 

Now thats customer service, at best!
