A/C vent problem on Wife and My 05's

My wife and I own a 05 f250sd and expedition. We are having trouble with the a/c. The air is blowing through the defrost but cools down. To get the air to blow through the vent you have to take it off A/c turn the **** to vent only so the air blows through the vents and then go back to a/c to get it to work. It is doing it on both the trucks. If I turn the truck off and back on it still blows through the vents but if set for a while it starts all over again. I want to think it is a vacuum problem but wanting to check. If it is does anyone have a diagram on these trucks for vacuum lines.
