The starter ring is different on the powerstroke so you will need the starter ring from your current engine to make it bolt up, but the bolt pattern should work. Converting to a powerstroke is not a simple task though. You would probably need the complete donor truck to get it right. I would sooner look for a used IDI....

The thing you have to consider is the IDI is a mechanical engine.
The Power Stroke is a computer controlled engine.
On the IDI you have a cable going to the injection pump, a mechanical connection from the throttle to the IP.
On a Power Stroke the throttle is electronic and linked to the computer which tells the injectors how much fuel to inject.
Bolting the engine in is the big part of an IDI to IDI swap.
Bolting the engine in is only a very small part of an IDI to Power Stroke swap.

The scrapyard I visit lets engine blocks go for $200 a pop. Doesn't matter what kind of engine it is, engine with heads... $200 flat.
Time to go looking for IDI's...

I stay away from Brandywine. They wanted $75 for a tail light on a 1986 Toyota Camry. $150 for a Distributor on a 1985 Mazda... And this was a few years ago. I dunno what the price has gone up to now.
