has been amazing for the 3 rounds played. Greg Norman at 53 is leading this in horrible conditions.
I don't think it would be different with Tiger there.
The golf freaks, like me, probably look at this as vindication for the misery of "The Shark" fans of the '80's and early '90's.
It's been an amazing 3 rounds to watch and I've watched it all.
It feels like we old SOB's have hope. And by the way, he married Chrissy Everett 2 weeks ago. I used to buy clubs based on what Greg was hitting. Didn't help me but I felt like a PGA guy.
Now i just watch. This has been a great 3 days for and old crippled Ba^&ard like me.
I think I've got a tear in my eye!
I was once a golf nut. I played year round (living in Florida helped). I remember driving 40 miles to buy a used Ping putter (hard to find back then)from a golf pro and paying $35 (lots) back then. That said, I never watch golf or bowling on TV because there is nothing I haven't seen before. My son inherited my golf gene and has played all over the country. I don't recall what he paid to play Pebble Beach, but I think it was $300...... waaaaay too much for me.
Don i paid $300 in '98 to play Pebble. It was peak so that may not be indicative. Then I found out my father had a Pass through GE....pissy SOB, yep...but it was worth ever nickle. I shot 102. If I shot 600... just to be on that course with that history.
I'm rooting Norman all day tomorrow.
I'm pulling for the Shark too. He's blown up so many times on Sunday that it would be nice to see him finish this one off and get some of the monkey off his back.
Monkey....hell that thing on him is a fossil from 9007 BC and before bannas. Monkey's would have starved.
He has won the BO 2'xs but at 53.....I'm hoping!!!
